York Rapidplay

The York Rapidplay is a new event that is held in the stunning University of York campus multiple times during the year.

We held our first ever event on the 18th June 2017 and the tournament was a great success and enjoyed by everyone. We look forward to holding more rapidplay events, and maybe congresses, making it better each time.

We have managed to secure a fantastic venue capable of easily hosting 100 players with plenty of space, plug sockets and parking.

Refreshments are provided next door if you are feeling peckish or you can take a walk through the University's stunning campus to Market Square.

Directions

The event will be held in rooms D/L/002 and D/L/003. Parking is available just outside the building, see the blue arrow. However, it is likely that this car park will fill, and we advise parking in the larger Campus Central Car Park, see the orange arrow. To get to the Tournament Hall, simply walk along University Road, and turn down the second road on the left (leads to a cul-de-sac)

If you are travelling by car from outside of York we advise taking the A64 and branching off for the A1079 (labelled York Hull). Take the first exit at the roundabout and continue to the next roundabout (second exit).

This will take you onto University Road, see green arrow. Follow this road until you arrive at one of the parking sites.

If you are taking public transport, then you can take the 66 Bus, every seven minutes from the train station. Stop at Library bridge, see yellow arrow, and walk further down the road. You should see a turning to the right, which will lead to the tournament hall and will be signposted on the day.

We will then check through all your details to make sure there are no errors and request the entry fee to confirm your place in the tournament.
